Biographical

Justice Ann Crowell was elected November 2011, the first woman to be elected to the Supreme Court in the Fourth Judicial District of New York State. As a Principal Law Clerk, then as a Justice, for 19-years she consistently assisted attorneys and their clients to successfully negotiate settlements in a multitude of cases.

She first began mediating cases as a certified community mediator in 1997. Justice Crowell most recently attended Mediating the Litigated Case at Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, and the Commercial Mediation and Advanced Commercial Mediation courses sponsored by the New York State Bar Association. She is a designated neutral for the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.

She previously served as Principal Law Clerk to the Hon. Stephen Ferradino and as Deputy Counsel at the NYS Division of Parole. Prior to entering public service, she was a litigator at various Capitol District law firms representing both plaintiffs and defendants. She spent ten years employed by AT&T in various sales and marketing management positions before attending law school.

Justice Crowell is past President of the Saratoga County Bar Association, and a prior board member of both the Capital District Women's Bar Association and the Adirondack Women's Bar Association. She is a graduate of the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce Leadership Saratoga Program and the NYS Governor's Leadership Program. In 2012, she was recognized by the NYS Senate as a “Woman of Distinction”.

Rates Information

 

2024 Mediation Rate Schedule

Effective Jaunary 1, 2024, rates for services will be:

Mediations: $550.00 per hour

                   Plus $100.00 Administrative Fee

 

USDC/NDNY Mediations

Federal Mediations scheduled twice per month only

$500.00 for the first two (2) hours, $325.00 per hour for anytime thereafter. 

Preparation/Review: $250.00 per hour, up to four hours.

Cancellations:  If the mediation is cancelled by the parties less than 48 hours prior to the mediation session, the parties will be responsible for one hour of mediation time each to compensate the mediator for his preparation time.
