Biographical
Mr. Anderson has mediated and arbitrated more than 1,700 cases, ranging in value from $50,000 to 12 million dollars; in complexity from “slip and fall” to complicated multi-party products liability, construction accident, medical negligence, and commercial claims. He served as Chair of the 1340 member Dispute Resolution Section of the New York State Bar Association from 2023-2024. He continues to be active in DRS and serves as Third District Section Liaison. He is also involved on an ongoing basis to assist in the implementation of New York’s presumptive ADR initiative.

Education
Mr. Anderson completed mediation training at the Harvard Negotiation Institute of Harvard Law School in 2010. IN 2014 he was trained in commercial mediation at Fordham Law School, sponsored by the New York State Bar Association. In 2018 he completed advanced mediation training through the American Bar Association's Section of Dispute Resolution. Mr. Anderson was an adjunct professor at Albany Law School from 2017 through 2022, where he taught Alternative Dispute Resolution to second and third year law students.
Mr. Anderson also lectures on mediation and arbitration to lawyers at continuing legal education programs sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, Capital District Trial Lawyers' Association and Albany County Bar Association. He is frequently asked to serve on panels, train mediators, and mentors new dispute resolution practitioners.
In October of 2020 he chaired a program sponsored by the New York State Bar Association entitled: ADR for the Tort Litigator: What is it? Which to Choose and How to Prepare. His article entitled: Alternative Dispute Resolution and the Personal Injury Lawyer: Coming of Age, was published in the October 2020 edition of the Albany County Bar Association newsletter. In July of 2021 Mr. Anderson was a speaker and mediation trainer for The Nassau Academy of Law and Nassau County Bar Association's program: Personal Injury Mediation Training and in December of 2021 was a speaker and trainer for the three day program: Personal Injury Advanced Mediation Training Program sponsored by the New York State Bar Association. In May of 2022, Mr. Anderson presented a program entitled: ADR in 2022 for the Plaintiff and Defense Practitioner: How to Prepare for and Mediate the Personal Injury Case. In the Fall of 2022, Mr. Anderson moderated a roundtable panel discussion entitled: The Mediator's Toolbox: Practical and Ethical Considerations to Avoid or Break Impasse at the Fall Meeting of the Dispute Resolution Section of the New York State Bar Association. At the 2024 DRS Spring Meeting, he moderated a roundtable panel discussion entitled: For Better or Worse: The Marriage of Technology and Dispute Resolution-Where We've Been, Where We Are and What Lies Ahead.
Mr. Anderson received his Bachelor of Arts degree Cum Laude from Colgate University in 1978 and Juris Doctor Degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 1981.

Rates Information
MEDIATION: $550 for review of material and mediation time.
ARBITRATION: $600 for review of material and arbitration time.
